Alaska Oil Production

Tying in with the last photo I shared, showing how Alaska’s economy is a very “3 legged stool” where Alaska’s economy is heavily dependent on three main sectors from government, basic sectors such as industrial, infrastructure, construction, ect. and finally Petroleum. Just like a stool where if it looses one leg, then its sure to fall, which is what has Alaskans worrying with the decline in the Petroleum sector. This photo shows the rate at which this sector is declining, which is honestly a terrifying rate.

What generates jobs for Alaska residents?

This photo has to do with Alaska’s economy. It breaks down Alaska’s main sources of employment from Federal Gov. to basic sectors such as industry and finally the Petroleum sector. This photo really surprised me because I’ve always known that Petroleum related jobs always made up a large part of Alaska’s jobs but i never realized it as as drastic as 1/3 of Alaska’s total jobs. That’s the reason I’m sharing this photo is because of this surprising fact.
